because apparently Marijuana does not only alter a person's way of thinking while intoxicated but also slows down the brain's potential to grow. and this is proved in your question "..when theres worst drugs?" it should be "when there are worse drugs".. but anyways pot is the most heavily advertised because of its availability. and just a question but what drugs do you see as being worse that aren't advertised as being bad??

I'd rather they spend the money advertising why meth is bad...it hurts a lot more people than weed. But, weed is a gateway drug because it's the first step (since it's easily obtained) to being comfortable taking other drugs that are illegal...so that's why they make commercials against weed. I'm really not that impressed with the commercials, the only people they will convince are those who would probably never try weed anyway.

Weed is not that bad, comparitively speaking, but it effects brain development and is particularly bad if used regularly by young people. Also, there can be peer pressure to use it, and the commercials create pressure to not use it. I think enough people realize that if someone is taking the time to discourage it on TV, it must be harmful. Some people might not have been told this and aren't aware of the other side of the coin from the people who encourage it. People who use it typically don't argue that it is harmful. I once used it and stopped when I realized how harmful it is, and also that it get's old and boring very quickly, for me anyway.

it's not the severity of how bad it is. there are commercials bc it's a very common drug that ppl abuse. it wouldn't make sense to make a commercial and buy airtime for drugs like peyote bc it would be meaningless to 99% of the ppl who see it.

B/c weed is a gateway drug. If people don't start smoking pot, they are less likely to open their horizon to harder drugs.
