Well you could always look for cities in deserts. Or you could look at this website (see ref below), where they listed some of the "Driest Inhabited Places"
Topping this list is Aswan, Egypt with about 0.02 inches of rain fall per year.

Well first off "Antarctica" and "Artic" are not countries. "Arctic" isn;t even a landmass.
The driest country in the world isLibya with an average rainfall of just 26mm/year. Compare that to Australia's 340mm or Chad and Somalia's 200mm.

G'day Daniel G,
Thanks for the question.
The world's driest country is Egypt. Egypt is predominantly desert. An area of only 35,000 square kilometers - 3.5 % of the total land area - is cultivated and permanently settled. Most of the country lies within the wide band of desert that stretches from Africa's Atlantic Coast across the continent and into southwest Asia.
Egypt's geological history has produced four major physical regions: the Nile Valley and Delta, the Western Desert (also known as the Libyan Desert), the Eastern Desert (also known as the Arabian Desert), and the Sinai Peninsula. The Nile Valley and Delta is the most important region because it supports 99% of the population on the country's only cultivable land.
Egypt also has four places in the world's driest places:
* Aswan, Egypt 0.02"
* Luxor, Egypt 0.03"
* Arica Desert, Chile 0.04"
* Ica, Peru 0.1"
* Antofagasta, Chile 0.2"
* El Minya, Egypt 0.2"
* Asyut, Egypt 0.2"
In central and southern Egypt, it can be several years between rainfall. Egypt receives 80 millimeters of rainfall or less annually with the wettest area near Alexandria receiving 200 millimeters.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Regards

interestingly enough, the driest continent is Australia... But you asked for the driest country, so i have to answer that question. The driest country is... Australia. Interestingly enough, Australia is a Continent and a country! Crazy. huh. and a little more information for ya, About 2/3 of the Continent/Country is desert. Thats like taking everything west of the Mississippi River and making it ALL desert. Crazy!!!

I believe it is the Atacama Desert in Chile that is the poorest rainfall, If I remember correctly there has been less than 1inch per year for the longest of times... some years not even receiving a drop of rain.
