No bleach in warm water with laundry detergent let it dry outside the dryer. Bleach and the dryer will eventually ruin the rubber elastic material. Bleach can also yellow the material if it is made of nylon. Follow these instructions and your ball cather will last you a long time as long as some other stud does not rip it off or nibble it off with his teeth. :D

Hand wash it in the sink in warm water. Take a bar of soap and rub the jockstrap with it. If it has a cup pouch, put the soap in the pouch and rub it in from there. Then rinse it out, and air dry it.

add other clothes of same colour
put in detergent
switch machine on normal
wait................................
open washer
take out clothes
put in dryer
turn on dryer for 60 minutes on normal
wait
open dryer

Throw it in the washer with the rest of the underwear. (Take out the plastic first, and wash it in the sink with a few drops of bleach, and some soap).

I just toss it in the washer with my other whites. But I usually do not put it in the dryer - the heat tends to ruin the elastic over time.

Mine go washer with my whites then hang them on line to dry. Heat does affect the wear of the strap. Some of my jocks like keep nasty.

It depends. Is it fur, leather, or plain old cotton-elastic?
Fur or leather, I'd take it to your professional cleaners. Plain old cloth, wash it like other undergarments, and hang to dry.
