Tell them to face reality. There's no hope. The attraction will fade off sooner then expected. I have known couples who are just 10 years apart and are miserable. Ideally the age gap should'nt be more than 5 years unless of course the people involved are strong willed and there are other personal issues in question.

age is just a number. True love doesn't have boundary. Look at Celion Dion. I'd say just leave it up to your friend. She'll be the one that knows whether there is hope or not.
