You would need to route your HTTP requests through an external proxy server like TinyProxy, often through a non-standard port like not port 80.

Step 1: Find out what happens to you if you get caught trying to bypass the proxy server....

Step 2: Figure out how you plan to explain it to the Dean when your butt gets hauled in....

Nope, no way around that. Unless you can bribe the sys admin into giving you a hotshot connection into the DMZ.

If he or she has any kind of brain, the external proxies will also be blocked so don't waste your time with that. ;)
