neither one of you are strong swimmers and oceans are a new experience,
You've both had a bit too much to drink and now under a full moon you're walking along a deserted beach. Your wife is feeling a little frisky. She takes off her clothes and heads into the ocean all the while pleading with you to join her. Then she disappears into a wave . when she pops up you realize that she is caught in an undertow that is taking her rapidly out to sea. Do you go in after her and risk making your kids orphans ?

Yes I would go save her, hoping that my kids would understand someday what love is, and hoping even more that I could save her.

That's a really good question. I would say go in after her because with two people fighting for a life the chance is alot greater and the chance of you getting stuck in the undertow is very unlikely. Not only that but i rather know that my father tried to save my moms life and that's how he died then to know that he just stood there and watched her drowned. You also should be in the ocean deep enough to get caught in a undertow if you don't know how to swim anyways. I could also see where someone would say stay back and take care of the kids because it's always better to have one then none. However look at how they will look at you. Not only that but i think someones first instinct would be to go in after someone who was drowning.

The example says I am not a strong swimmer, so if I thought it was not going to help, and could possibly make things worse, I would not go in. I would try to help, telling her not to fight the undertow and to let it pull her under and spit her back up, then drift down the shore until she can get out. But it's hard to say that, as if it happened it might be very hard to make rational decisions, and I might jump in anyway.

The scenario involves some very stupid people if they are both drunk and can't swim, yet play in the ocean at night with no one around. ;)

I hope this never happens to anyone. To answer your question, if this is that type of question, your children will not be orphans if you and your wife happen to drown as their mother is still living. You are not married to their mother. If this is not that type of question, I will repeat what I said in the beginning, I hope this never happens to anyone.

Dude, you got too much time on your hands.

Smoke another dubber and go to bed knowing that your wife and kids are safe in their beds.

Or just smoke another dubber and go to bed.
