I've been super stressed-out lately and answering questions relieves the stress for me for some insane reason which I don't want to question.

When I first heard of Yahoo Answers I was very excited! The chance to give my opinions, help or assistance on a subject. Then I noticed that some folks have like 30,000 points on here? That sorta seemed impossible for simply getting 2 points to answer a question. So I figured that there is some way to get points for something that I don't know about.
But I gave that thought up...........and felt I should just answer the best way I can. I often spend 30 minutes on a question. And have done some major research on a few, that were looking for lost family members, death certificates, funeral notices.
I find it helps ME.
As for your question? My answer would be because I really do care. I do like when my answer is chosen as the best. It tells me that I helped. The Yahoo point system leaves something to be desired for those that seek to give a good/better/best answer.

Im here because this makes the world seem a little smaller, and so I can engage in debate or discussion about issues that interest me. I got rid of cable tv and so when I feel like vegging out, I often come do this. Do I care? well, yes. I do, but that is only a portion of why I ask and answer. It makes me feel like I have contact with the global community. Its more intelegent than watching some show like american idol. I dont really care about the points.

cuz i really care for others and think i can help anyone with a problem i should. and l love to chat with others . Oh and because i have nothing els to do. But points dont me a thing look at me i am still in leve 1 and i dont think care if i go up or whatevers.

cause i Care , in a way i'm trying to explain to some ppl some of the facts they don't know , ppl here are really ignorant , I'm not saying all ppl but let's say most of them , they don't read about other cultures and they only thing they do is Watching this idiot Bush and his ppl , and believing the Sick Medea , it's crazy . sometimes funny but most of the time sad .

Both. It's nice to get recognized, but I give the answer I think or know is right even when I know it's gonna rankle the asker. And sometimes am a smartas if it's a silly question. Then it's just for fun.

I'm here for the entertainment & at the same time, find out how people react to, think, & feel about certain issues... but it does make my day when I get a "thumbs up" for my answer or my answer has been chosen as the "best answer"...

I simply enjoy having fun and helping people with questions if possible. I guess it gives me something to do between all the other jobs I am responsible for in my life. Points don't bother me and I really enjoy asking as much as answering.I have met some nice people on here to chat on IM with! Nice question Rob and thanks for all the others too :)
