It is absolutely illegal to "ban" children. They are one of the many "protected classes" Landlords and Managers can be sued, fined, and prosecuted for discrimination. That is a fair housing issue. They can limit the number of people to occupy an apartment, but you cannot specify children or adult.
The exception to this rule is retirement communities.

to my understanding in the uk a landlord can put any rule exclusions they like in the contract
after all it is private property not a public place so the landlord is just saying i dont want kids in my property although you rent it it is still the property of your landlord
i was told when we started renting out a property that we had the right to say when they could have the tv on (not sure if we could go quite that far)
so yes thay can ban kids
if you dont like the rules dont sign the contract look for somewhere else to rent

Pets are less destructive and you cannot play the legal sympathy card when they have to evict you.
Yes it is legal to ban children. It's their property, they call the shots.

the owner of a belongings has the right to make decrease as long as they don't violate regulations on the region of race, faith, creed, etc.. There are at present no regulations written that assure the right of a figure to employ. If someone replaced into residing in a progression with little ones and the owner positioned that throughout position it would not word to those already residing there. in straightforward words to those shifting in afterwards. some others commented about detrimental little ones. I spoke of it contained in the complicated the position my mothers and fathers lived. They ripped up flora and adorns and made noise acceptable outside the condo truly of going to the playground. My persons ultimately moved to a "no little ones allowed" progression. that is gloomy because my mothers and fathers love little ones, all little ones. yet they ought to not ought to tolerate little ones who do not comprehend others belongings. the mothers and fathers were the actual difficulty no longer the little ones.

Because these days people dont teach their kids to take care of or respect anything. Ever seen how much damage some wild, undisciplined kids can cause? Yes they own the property and can decide who can and who can't live there.

Yes, but many parents don't supervise their children, and they end up causing property damage or putting themselves in danger, which could end in a lawsuit.
