Funny you should say this but I have noticed that old ladies, when they want to attract your attention, they sometimes stick their fanny in your face.

That is a funny thing to ask. you gave me a good laugh. I have seen this also, and I think it has to do with the fact that they are old and the Hormones that they once had , that made them feminine are all gone. also, they may be in pain and just don't give a darn what people think anymore. They care more about being comfy and probally don't even take notice to the way they sit anymore since their old. But they need to!@ I'll always try to sit right when I get old.lol

Wait until you are at that age, you will then find out.
Actually it is because either varicose veins or Athritus is painful with legs bent, legs straight out exerts less force thus less pain.
& For those who think it GROSS, no one compels you to look.

lol, that's about the most funny and cute question I had ever heard... lol... but it's because bending their legs/knees are pretty painful. It's easier just to lie straight open =] (which i admit, sounds kind of wrong, but is tru)

Because they are wearing an incontinence pad, which would be rather uncomfortable if they closed they re legs.
