what is a good ocean beach to travel to...?
It can be anywhere in the world but it has to be interesting. I don’t want to go there to sunbath, I want to go there to explore and see something fascinating.

The beaches of the central oregon coast.
Besides being pristine and beautiful ... at low tide you can walk on the rocks and survey tidepools. Also, in places, most notably Depoe Bay, you can watch the waves spout up, esp. high in stormy weather. There is also whale watching in the spring in fall.
Just north of Florence are the sea lion caves, you can see wild sea lions in the ocean, on rocks, and in their natural caves. Amazing!

I personally think the beaches on the west coast of the US are beautiful. The water is cool and blue, and the coastline is interesting. :-)

daytona beach. you can drive on the sand, and park just a few yards away from the water.
