It depends on how well it does in the theaters, it it does well it takes longer, if it does poorly in comes out quicker. some movies that are released out in certain theaters as a test screening and depending on how well it does, it goes out to more heathers, and if it does really bad it go straight to DVD. Hope this helped!

Lately, movies have been moving to home distribution much quicker. It seems like DVDs, PPV, and even premium cable airings are out less than a month after the film leaves heavy rotation in the theaters.

I have even seen movies with DVD availability while the movie is still playing at the local budget theater.

I would expect almost any movie in theaters now to be available by Thanksgiving, ready for Christmas shopping lists.

That depends on the licensing agreement with the film producer.
Sometimes movies are released to dvd without ever seeing the "big screen", while others will have dvd release dates ranging from 90 to 270 days after screen release.

it takes usually about 3 to 6 months. If the movie has been nominated for an award, it will take about 2 to 3 months.

here in the philippines it wouldnt be a problem since piracy is huge...you can have a certain movie in a dvd a week after the showing... the original dvd's are just so expensive thats why lots of filipinos buy pirated ones

Signup for net flicks and then put it on your wish list. When the movie comes out, you'll get notification. It's only 10 bucks a month
