I don't think there really is a "Normal" time. It's whenever the couple feels they are ready to move on from being engaged to the actual marriage. There really isn't a set time frame-not that I'm aware of at least. Don't rush things...get married when u & ur partner are ready.

My wife and I waited a year and a half between proposal and wedding date....I would say between 1 and 2 years depending on the circumstances

That completely depends on the couple and their family customs. In my family, for instance, usually about 6 months. The more important thing is to date the person long enough before proposing to make sure that he/she is the "right one".

to plan stuff you need at least 6 months but alot of people I think wait about a year. I on the other hand got it all planned in 2 months..and it was great! why wait?

Long enough to plan a wedding. Engagement should not be used to continue to get to know the other person.

It just depends on how big of a wedding you're having, availability of reception area, or place to have the wedding, decorating, dresses, tuxes, photos and all that.
