OK, I am rephrasing my question.

I am switching to Cingular. (Because everyone I talk to has it.) I REALLY like the Treo but will not use the internet properties.

HOWEVER, the other phone I want cost $150 so why not spend $50 more and get the palm qualities right?

I love my Treo 650
If you're not planning on using the Internet functions it's still a great phone to have. I rarely use the Internet on mines. I love the Palm OS and all the software applications available for it. The calendar and alarm functions alone are lifesavers. The camera is pretty decent [it takes still photos and video] and the sound quality of the mp3 players is really good too.
Now if you really like the Treo 650, you're going to love the links I listed below. If you want to wait a couple of months you could be the first on your block to own the NEW Treo 750 for Cingular

So what if your friends have Cingular. Get T-Mobile and buy a Samsung T809. It's better.
