Because there are too many pagan holidays. Paganism doesn't actually name just one religion, but a loosely defined assortment of naturalistic, animistic, magic and polytheistic religion. Pagans don't all agree on specific holidays. A lot of pagans are women who believe in "the goddess", so there should be a holiday for the goddess. OK. But then what about Zeus, Aphrodite, Athena, Ares, Thor, Maya, Baal, Baalbek, Friga, Ishtar, Quetzalcoatl, and so on? Shouldn't all of them get their own holidays?
Then there are the solstice and equinox days -- these are widely celebrated by pagans and druids all over the planet. Interestingly, they are co-celebrated by Christians (though THEY call them Christmas and Easter, the solstices).
If you want official recognition, you gotta do it the political way. I've got a lot of pagan friends and most of them don't care about politics; that's just stuff that's passing by, in their view. so, maybe the thing is to celebrate with your friends, and take a sickie or flexi day so you can have fun.
Oh, and don't forget Jerry Garcia's birthday, AUG 1, every year.

Because the country is run by people that have to get the popular vote..did you notice that this category doesn't even list Halloween? It's also because being pagan was not talked about for centuries..and pagan holidays were first anyway..

Because this country was founded by Christians and it is the Christian doctrine of living, (selflessness) that has made our country great! Don't get me wrong, I don't want a government that forces a religion on it's subjects, but the freedom to choose is one of our mose sacred. Should our great country ever have enough of a majority to publically celebrate paganism, based on history and the results of practicing such beliefs, I would say our country would soon come to an end of her greatness and we would implode from withing. Just like Rome did. For what it's worth!

The early Christians set their holidays on pagan festival dates, so just call it by the original name. Why would you want a new date?

Majority rules, I guess. Pagans used to get noticed, Christians liked their holidays so much, they took them over.

Because this country is run by a bunch of right-winged Christsian crazed maniacs who think the U.S. revolves around religion - Christianity. They don't aknowledge the other religions nor do we have a day off to celebrate another's religious holiday.

Most answers suffice, but I'll say what's been said in a kind of different manner: Most don't want to notice them. That's not my view, but I believe it's the majority view. Most aren't interested in holidays except for one it benefits them or is part of their traditions.
