Well I find myself upset at the state of the world. Yet in my current position what can I really do about it? Well, this past Monday I was out for lunch and I saw a young Arabic woman waving a flag (it was colorful like a rainbow and had PEACE written on it) celebrating peace on our Red mile.
I came across a case study:
The effect of transcendental meditation vs. the crime rate of a city
It was found as the group of people increased the percentage of violent crimes (homicides, rapes and assaults) were decreasing.
Using this information I have tried to come up with a possible solution, where I may be able to be apart of a positive change and a brighter future for us all. What if 7 million people together meditated on peace? If peace inner and outer was our cause, what would the global effect be?

I don't think that peace is a maintainable state.
I think it is a peak, and war is the valley.
I don't think people are built for peace. I think happiness is a peak and sadness is a valley, and normal is somewhere in between.
I don't think you can meditate away ANY problem, other than the ones in you own mind/heart/soul/animus.
They tried it in the 60's. They tried it at Woodstock. The people who hold power in this world laughed.
I think you can affect only one real, positive change upon the world. Make yourself as happy as possible. Not in a hedonistic way, but deep inside. Be calm. This is the best you can do. In my opinion.

meditation is a perfect way to remain peaceful and calm. It is also a wonderful way to bring something positive into our mind and share it with those around us. When one is at peace within himself, he radiates peaceful energies and can send energies of peace throughout the world. I do belong to a group and we do that in our meditations. More and more people do meditate.
When people need to carry a flag in order to let others know they want and wish peace, the situation is really critical.There is so much hatred in the world right now and we feel hopeless in stopping those massacres.
I do believe in the prayer power ! It does miracles. Meditation and prayer are sisters and peace is their brother.

You can't meditate peace into being. There are people all over the world trying to pray or meditate war away and we still have it. If you want to work towards peace join the service and help kill the enemy.

those are precisely my proper ten causes to why i'm balloting for McCain. it must be rather cool to have a Black, Hispanic, or Asian President sometime, yet I do purely no longer trust Obama. at the same time as he's nice in economics, he's weak in foregin rules and ought to spoil the courting the U.S. has with China. yet another excuse which could be my style 11, is that he has finally no militia adventure of any style. His stragedy for Iraq is ridiculous and absolutely turn this usa backwards.

They'll never be peace just face it. people are too strong minded and believe the one government is better than the next or one country is more rich than the next. there's no point. although your idea is plausible it probably won't happen for a while.

No i believe we are not because of who we have in the white house. George w bush is not mentally capable of doing any thing right. so there for the world is only going to get worse because all he wants to do his fight everyone in the middle east.
