Check if your declaration of the connection object is done properly. Also delete and recreate the DNS properly. Verifying the ODBC drivers will also help.
Depending upon the code you need to find if you are using Microsoft ODBC or Oracle ODBC driver. Trying both one after another should help you narrow that down.
