Serious replies only please. i have a couple of questions. i am definitly getting a tattoo and i know kind of what i want. Some combnination of a thorny rose, handcuffs and a heart. Just not sure exactly how to do it. So any ideas there? Plus where do i put it so i can see it easily but certain members of my family won't see it at all? And i am allergic to metal is the ink they use based in metal at all? Also based on what i want it to be of what colors would be best to use .. cause i heard certain colors hurt more and i don't want to experience major amounts of pain. And i want to get my BF's intials placed within the tattoo somehow. Where would be a good place to put them. Right now i am thinking on one of the thorns or in one of the petals. Any other ideas. Thanks in advance!

Take it from someone who has experienced it first hand, I'm guessong you are about 19 or 20. Ask yourself what you want on your body in 10-15 years. I have a huge black bird on my arm. I thought I was going to be an artist, but now I'm a parent of three children living in a small southern town. I tend to stick out, however I have other tattoos in other places that I loved then and still love now, like a design on the top of my foot. Get one but consider your goals. It's going to hurt, the color ink doesnt matter. It's the needle. For the black outline the needle is a single prong needle that hurts more than the double or triple prong they use for coloring in the picture. Also some parts of the body hurt more-the one on my foot hurt like the devil, but the one on my arm not as much. The more fatty a spot the less it hurts. Do not drink alcohol before getting the tattoo, it thins the blood making it harder to hold the ink.I don't think that the ink has any metal, but the needle certainly does. Red is a good color, white may yellow with time. For the love of god do not put anyones name or initials permanently on your skin. I don't care if you intend to grow old and gray together, just don't do it. I once knew a guy who loved the band Poison, but now he's just a guy with the Poison logo on the back of his calf. It's just tacky. And most importantly, DO NOT let anyone near your skin without gloves and make sure you personally see them open a fresh clean needle. My sister got Hepatitis C from a tattoo she got in someones livingroom, and now she needs a liver transplant. It's like having sex, you need to make sure the person is clean first, in a shop that has it's health code rating posted on the wall.

Try drawing examples on paper first and see what you like best. I've heard that some people can be allergic, but that it's rare. Color is a matter of preference. Colors hurt more because they cover a larger area than just black outlines. As for placement, anywhere on the back it can be hidden fairly well...and lastly, why the hell would you want a tattoo of handcuffs?

I have 4 tattoo and let me tell u that they all hurt the same. About the color that's not true. I think that it depends on where u want it. like it will hurt more on sensitive part of ur body the tattoo that really hurted the most was the one i have in my ankle. I think that ur tattoo will look nice if u put it like on the side of ur waist well not exactly on ur waist but below ur waist. good luck on ur first tattoo

Two Tats Cost $78 To do,,, and then $3,800 to remove Six years later, with a lot more Pain,, Ya go ahead and get stupid I did and it cost me several very good jobs I might add. Your husbands Initials or name I could see if it were unseen except by him otherwise it's just more stupidity especially when you change BF's..

Enjoy life and may my words Haunt you with every prick of the Needle as it buries the Ink in your flesh.

Chata nailed the answer.

The only question I have is why aren't you asking these of your tattoo artist? They get paid to help you get the best tattoo possible. They deal with many of these questions frequently and they will know the exact answer (if they don't, find another artist).

On your chest, on your thigh, on your hip bone (if you're on the thin side).
