I was raped and may be pregnant!?

Does anybody know the law in Oregon about rapist parental rights? I've heard that he may still have parental rights! I want to go for adoption...but he'd have to sign off on! Can somebody please tell me the facts so I make sure he NEVER see's the baby?

My cousins, ones a doctor the other a lawyer, have offered to take her in...but i just don't want to wind up having him with any part in the family picture! I would get to see her/him often, they are family and it would be an open adoption.

First I suggest that you find out if youre even pregnant! Then, go to the police and report him, weather you are or not, if you are pregnant you must tell them this and say that you dont want him near the baby. I'm sure due to the circumstances something can be done. Also, I highly doubt he has many parental rights in jail -- which he will go if you report him and testify against him in court. My cousin is in prison and his parental rights have been revoked but he must pay child support. However if youre giving the baby up for adoption, child support will obviously not be necessary.

I dont know the laws in Oregon. I know he should be in jail though for rape. I really am sorry that happened to u i was molested from 4 yrs old till 11.This would be the only time i would ever believe in abortion,but if u are strong enough to have this baby i think it is wonderful and i wish u the best of luck!Have him locked up for what he did to u do not let him get away with it please.

Why did you put this on Yahoo! Answers? If you were raped, you'd be seeing the police; and you wouldn't be depending on some website like Yahoo! for answers. You live in Oregon, and you're asking people in cyberspace, of which most probably don't even live in Oregon.

If you were really raped, and wanted to know the rapist parental rights, you would consult someone in that department in your own state, yourself.
