Not actually,
The cinema, TV programmes, or drama...is mostly a commercial activity...and their subject matter usually covers what is saleable. Specially, Cinema or TV programmes have nothing to do with a country's culture...pick up any movie...they try to sell violence, emotions, sex, or fantasy.
The stage drama is a little more relevant...although it has limited audience, and few takers.

The television...which has the largest audience...is the worst...so far as quality is concerned.

Not necessarily. They often reflect the social engineering strategies of the country's leaders. The culture just follows suit. Much of the sex and violence on TV in the U.S. nowadays is deliberate social engineering. And, it's working quite well to degrade the consciousness of the people, making them dumber, more afraid and easier to control/manipulate.
