This is in addition to my other question in regards to marriage. I tried to go to the state of NY to find the divorce decree. You have to order it for one two...it asks for the exact date the divorce was as well as the county. I do not have all that info. If they finalized the divorce does either the state of NY or the lawyer he had send any info to the state we were married in?

Don't they have computers or microfiche in the office?
A clerk should be able to give you this info or at least direct you to it. The date should be enough to find the time.
You could always go back to the lawyer to get the info if this fails.

If you do not have any of the necessary information on the specifics of the divorce, the most efficient and fastest way is to contact the county court system in which the party last resided in that area. There may be several counties in the area, however, you should narrow it down from there. Normally, court systems, today, have a database where you can search by case number, type, party name, etc. So, I would think a name search would be sufficient here. If not help, you should try a private investigator or an attorney to locate such. Good luck!
