I used to go with this boy but he cheated on me and we eventually broke up. He now lives far away from me but told me through email he still loves me blah blah blah lol. He'll be back up here in about 2 years...I know it's a longggg way off, but do ya think I should give it another chance?? What would you do?? Cuz me and him were really tight at a time. The "stock" answer would be to avoid the guy since he cheated. The fact you are asking about this, however, means you are interested enough in him to consider going for another round in spite of his past behavior. Only you can choose how to proceed. The question to ask yourself is, "Will you be able to be comfortable in a relationship with him in the future?" If you would be constantly wondering where he is, who he is with, and whether or not he is cheating again, the odds are that dating him about would be an UNHAPPY experience.

In two years, you may have found the love of your life. I wouldn't worry about him. You know your reasons for leaving him, you should stick with that. In addition, in two years, he may have found the love of his life. Do you want to continue to hold a torch for someone who is just as capable of moving on as you are?
There is nothing wrong with being in touch with someone who was once your love, you just have to keep things in perspective. As long as you respect each other's choices and not become possessive and intrusive, life will be fine. Go on with your life and find someone you can trust.
