No, it is not a religion. To be truly Bohemian, you are a person who would give up anything for your art. To live a "Bohemian" lifestyle, a person is usually dirt poor, living in the most rundown place imaginable, but still living because the only thing they need to live is their music,paiting/any other form of art. To get a real feel of the Bohemian lifestyle, i would watch the movie Moulin Rouge, or watch the documentary called "No day but today" which is in the special features of the RENT DVD. the writer of Rent (Jonathan Larson) lived a vary Bohemian lifestyle.

Bohemian can mean a sort of romantic artist, a struggling but hopeful artist with great ambition. the movie Moulin Rouge can help explain it (be warned though, it's a terrible movie). This is the Bohemian that is meant in the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody.
