They put up pictures of their leaders and put alot of blind trust in them.
They cover their women almost completely.
They put a huge emphasis on religion.

We mock, hate and distrust our political leaders.
We do not cover our women but every where you go you see images of women like they are the Ayatollah
Religion is mocked or encouraged to be kept secret.

I am not saying we are the same as the terrorists. But could we learn something from mid east culture.

There are some traditional - conservative things about the middle east that are good in moderation, they are just way too strict there and here it is becoming really too loose morally. I don't think women should cover themselves with a hahbib but I don't think they should have pictures of themselves with their navels showing or bikinis all over the place either. I don't think religion should be manditory but it would be good if people were more moral and faith was part of their lives. I don't think I would ever want to live somewhere that had big brother type posters of the ruler everywhere though, not even a little bit. It would be nice to have more moderation between the two extremes more like this coutry was like 30 years ago.

Actually, a large chunk of the US puts a huge emphasis on religion, and tries to enact religious doctrine as law whenever possible.

And a large chunk of the US puts blind faith in our leaders, regardless of how many constitutional violations or criminal actions they have admitted to committing.

I'll give you the women thing. But otherwise, we've become much more like the middle east caliphates than unlike.

A fact many Americans find disturbing.

Yet at the same time, we are allowed to distrust our political leaders and have opinions that vary from theirs without repercussion. Everyone could learn something from someone else- no one is perfect but how many people (countries of people) will be willing to admit that they would be better off if they gave up their way of life (even in one or two aspects) to live a different way. I just don't think that will happen.

only an idiot would blow themself up, and since I am such a tree hugger I think that these people are pygmies, no we could learn nothing, except how to smell worse, live in a 1100 sq ft house with our mom dad bro sis and 6 of our cousins, and buy a sportscar and do the opposite of what they preach, objectify, women and be greedy, people wake up.
