MeanDo you know where the nest is? If not, buy some diamatous earth and some poric acid powder. Sprinkle them around perimeter of the house;; The ants will walk through this and carry it back to the nest. the "earth" is an organic porduct tha tcontains finely gound silica. The silica is very shapr and will pirce the ecoskeltons of the ants and they will dry up and die, They will carry the boric acid back tto the nest to get the ones who didn't go traveling. If you have pets keep them indoors until the ants are gone then hose down the area you sprinkled.. If you have a hard rain before the ants are gine you will have to reapply.. I know this works. I killed four huge ant hills this summer with this method. Excuse the typos... not one of my skills. Meant to say boric acid powder. Both are available at Lowe's or Home Depot or an Ace hardware store.

Sounds like Carpenter ants. You need to call an exterminator. There could be a nest in your house. If left untreated, these ants can cause alot of damage to your home. You need to check your home for rotted wood. Or purhaps a tree close by. Have you had a water leak previously? Near the kitchen sink or the bathroom? I had a little problem with them myself. I was told that for every ant you see, there is a thousand in the nest. And that they can travel quite a distance from the nest. I would call the exterminator ASP.

I would try spraying around your entire (outside) foundation with Ortho Malathion spray. At the same time spray inside your house with Home Defense or some other inside spray. Repeat every 30 days. On the outside of your home look for any ant mounds and really soak them - check a few days later and re-soak if they appear to still be there. Also, you have to make sure your house is clean - no food crumbs or food particles left on the floor, etc. Be patient and you should see them disappear. Good luck.

This formua has worked for me on black, wood, & fire ants. In the kitchen & outside. It is NON-TOXIC & smells good. However ,don't drink it or put in the eyes ,nose or Ya Hoooo!! Mix 40-50 drops of peppermint oil with @6-8ozs of rubbing alchol. Put it in a squirt bottle & apply to ant trails in the house. Also, apply to the entry point outside. The smell also repels bugs.Kills all bugs on contact. Find the oil at the health food store or on ebay for @ 20.00/ 8 ozs.Repeat as needed.

You're probably missing their nest which is somewhere that you're not reaching...look around for outside wood damage...if you see wood dust laying around or an abundance of ants in a certain area, that's probably in their vicinity. You should contact a professional exterminator. Check with the Better Business Bureau first, some of those companies can be shady.

We have a problem with ants every spring. We put ant bait in the house and spray outside the house on a regular basis. Seems to control them quite well.

A Yahoo search for "ant extermination" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 2,710 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.
Good luck with your search.

Mix sugar with boric acid. Put it in places that are out of reach of children and pets. The ants will go straight for it, feast on it, and carry it back to their nests. The boric acid will expand in their stomachs. They will be completely wiped out in two weeks.
