I'd have to go with Abe.

FDR was pulled into the WWII conflict and did a good job leading the country through it. Abe has a one-up card on that, however, for his leadership through a time when more than half the country was against him. Not only the South, of course, but his approval rating in the North was estimated to be in the low to mid 30s. For someone to be able to persevere like that and turn the country around to back his leadership is just an amazing feat.

pipejetter is just blowing hot air in your direction. Just wave it away. Anyone who has completed high school should remember that there were many factors leading up to Civil War that started decades before Lincoln ever took office.

Neither would have a chance of getting elected in todays society. Because of television, Lincoln was a manic depressive and not very attractive so he wouldn't appeal to women voters. And FDR was handicapped and not many people would vote for a disabled man, (Remember Bob Dole). Also Lincoln was partly responsible for the civil war because he couldn't keep the country united and FDR is the guy responsible for the welfare system.

If you think Lincoln united the people, you need to review your history. He didn't receive a majority of the votes in 1860, he won a fiercely divided race in 1864 and was opposed by both most Southerners and many Northerners throughout his administration. Not to diminish his accomplishments, but he was much more popular after his death than before.
That being said, I'd pick Lincoln. He didn't give the order to firebomb Dresden or to lock the Japanese away into internment camps, and was relatively progressive for his day.

FDR, he tried to get us out of the Great Depression the best he could and led us through the worst war in history.

Not sure...probably FDR, since he'd be more of a consensus builder.
Personally, I think Lincoln was our greatest president ever...but if he were alive today, he couldn't get elected to anything. Hell of a shame...

Lincoln. He'd screw over the terrorists AND keep modern intellectuals such as myself happy at home. FDR's stupid, destructive economic policies worsened the Depression.

FDR. Lincoln wouldn't know what a car was, or a radio, or an airplane, or anything.

neither today's leftists/socialist/Benedict Arnold politicians and press would use propaganda and treasonous info. leaks to bring either one of them down like they did to bring Richard M. Nixon down in the 70's and like they are trying to do to George W. Bush now.
