Why is it that using heat, like a heating pad or something like that, just makes my cramps A LOT worse? Am I the only one that has this problem, because they work just fine for everyone else I know.

I would take birth control for them but i'm to afraid of all of the side effects (i'm a hypochondriac).

No pills from the stores (and even ones prescribed by the doctor) work for my cramps. I don't know why, but they just don't.

heat causes blood to pool there which can worsen the cramping. The best thing is to avoid caffeine for 1 week before your perios, reduce your salt and pamprin works great,

When I was on my period and had cramps and nothing seemed to work, my husband and I would take a shower together and have sex in the shower and that got rid of the cramps and it was good clean fun.

Some people find a cold compress works better than heat, if your period pain is extreme and your getting pains and twinges throughout the month I would see a doctor about getting tested for endometriosis.

Heat works for me but honestly, the most effective remedy for period cramps is an orgasm.
