i know it can be difficult being new, but you have to deal with it. what you can do is join a school organization that suits your interests and meet people who have the same interests as you. this usually makes it so much easier to start a conversation since you already have a common ground to talk about.

It takes a little time, but not too long. Everywhere you go in the new school (homeroom, lunch, classes, whatever) just find some little thing to say to someone or ask them. Because you're new it would be good if you either join some club or program at the school or else do something like get involved in some local thing (a dancing school, a sports program) outside of school but where kids from your school attend. Activities are the best way to make friends. It just happens.

There will probably be a person or two who makes the first move and introduces himself or offers assistance. If you don't know where something is (or even if you really do, just pretend), and ask someone.

If you get to know, say, one person quite well; and that's the person you can kind of walk to classes with or talk with, she may invite you to join her after school; or you could even ask her if she'll introduce you to a few more people.

Friends happen. Just give it a little time. By October you'll have friends.

I'd say, get involved in school activities to meet new people! Ask a teacher to help you find someone to show you around the school - then talk to this person about hobbies, family or music... movies... just be your lovely self and people will start to catch on. New school- a new start. Make the best of it!!!

Just be yourself there is a group of people that you like or relate too. That's the good thing about high school. There's a little bit of everything in it. Good luck.

Make the first move by introducing yourself to someone in one of your new classes. To make a friend, be a friend.

Join a club or group of some kind, especially if you play a sport or are interested in something, such as chess.

That is the best way to do it.

Join clubs, athletic teams, go to events, talk to people in your classes. That advise about being yourself is cute but if your a flaming moron it won't work. Just have fun and talk to people.
