Your GPA is calculated anew in a graduate program. Your undergraduate grades are not included.

This is because your undergraduate grades were used toward achieving your undergraduate degree, which you have now completed.

When you begin graduate school, the grades you earn will be counted toward the completion of an entirely new degree.

Even if you attend graduate school at the same institution at which you earned your undergraduate degree (which is most often not the case), you are still beginning a new degree program, and your graduate GPA will be derived from the grades you earn in this new program.

I think that your GPA starts over again. Once you get your diploma, everything starts anew.

I agree with crescent. You are beginning a new discipline. Your BS is history and your MS is a mystery. Good luck!
