So far laurielooh has the only good answer. The original exorcist with the deleted footage is great, here are some more. Jacobs Ladder, White Noise, the new Dawn of the Dead, Suspiria, either of the Texas Chainsaws, any one of the Phantasms. A little hit, most pg-13 horrors suck!

If you like really bloody scary movies rent Saw, Saw 2, High Tension, Hostle, The hills have eyes.
If you like scary but not very bloody movies then rent Amitiville Horror, Exorisim of Emily Rose, Boogy Man, Godsend, Taken... I could go on forever.

The Original "Halloween" and most of it's sequels, "Jaws" had its moments and is considered an American classic and I think it's a great movie(kind of summer themed too) The "Screamed" trilogy is great too.I think I like the first one the best,I like the kid who works in the video store and comes up with a horror movie survival hypothesis (I'll Be Right Back!!) "Final Destination" is quite scary (anything that makes you think about your own mortality usually is) "Final Destination 2" is more gory but I think is int as good as the first. "Final Destination 3" is out now,I haven't seen it and if you haven't you could check that out. I've heard "Saw" and"Saw 2" was scary. Steven Spielberg's "Poltergeist" was pretty scary and a great movie in its own right, like most of his movies. (There Heerree!!) Great sound track too.
