I take size 27 jeans (low-cut), but how do they get the 27? what measurement is it? Is it like your waist size?

normally it would be your waist size. With these lowriders today its probably just below your waist or whereever the top of the jeans are

I assume that the the 27 would be the measurement of where the top of the jeans are. If you wear them as your waist then I imagine that 27 would be your waist measurement...jeans found today are probably hip measurements...

It is lower than your waist but higher than hips
