Lowlifes who live in filth,are thiefs or people who try to work the system without paying their wayThey lie and cheat their fellow man,they are the ones who rape and defile children,can't carry on a conversation wothout every other word being a cuss word. They are always out to get or take something by hook or crook, show no respect for their fellow man and are filthy spiritually as well as physically or they can be squeaky clean and still be filthy. I have known people who were well off financially and were still WHITE TRASH. I have known people who were homeless and still had more class than any royalty.So wealth and status has nothing to do with where you live and what you have cause I know more WHITE TRASH with money than those who are broke and living in a cardboard box. I cannot critisize nor can anyone else for where someone lives or for what they have or don't have cause we all can be striken from our thrones with a twist of fate and and the loss of our income White trash is a state of mind,not a position of wealth or status. I know a lot of good people who are in the proverty bracket and a lot of White trash who are rich. Course I know poor white trash too who are discusting too as well as rich white trash also

I answer this question without judgement, I only answer the question.. The word trash is the key to the definition.We throw useless items, trash, away, therefore white trash are people judged to useless in society. No job, no money, no inclination to change this, the perception is, that they to quote a song" to lay around the shanty, mama, and put a good buzz on". Lazy, stupid, dirty, foul mouthed,no inclination to care for children, who run wild. No regard for the law, or law abiding citizens are another characteristic. Public aid personality is another.
It begs the question if the persons being judged as white trash threw society away, or society threw them away, or it was a mutual agreement.

Ewwww White Trash 73% of whites are white trash.. No job or working at a old diner, they smoke 3 and 4 packs of Marlboro cigarettes a day (lol).. they smell like wet dogs, walk around with no shoes. basically a hick, trailer trash. (honestly, i think most stereotypes exist primarily in people's minds, and not in reality. i think that most people who call someone white trash are comparing a few attributes of that person to a stereotype)
but basically the suggested image is someone with a mullet, really into nascar, lives in a run down trailer, 3 rusty cars in the overgrown lawn, inbred, high school degree, rebel flags everywhere, smokes and drinks, eats junk food constantly... you get the idea.
and when i think about it, it is really racist...as if you need to clarify if the trash isn't black.

well i don't refer or call any race of people a name that would seem offensive, but i did call a person white trash cause this lady said that whites are the supreme race, so i told her there is only one race! and that's the human race and if you think you are above that then you are white trash. but i love all people races and colors if i don't like you it would be due to ones character!

White trash is a state of mind. For me, it means a white person who is uncouth.

I respectfully disagree with the responses that say it has to do with being poor. There are lot's of rich white folks who are uncouth and plenty of poor ones who are not.
