well, firstly Tenor Madness is by Sonny Rollins. Check him out especially Saxophone Colossus.
Joshua Redman is another Tenor Saxophonist. He is young and very skilled.
Alto wise, Kenny Garrett. I believe he is the best out there right now for saxophone.
dont listen to kenny G.
Anything by Miles Davis. Try Duke Ellington and Stan Kenton too. Ohh and do yourself a favor and check out Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band.

I'd suggest Miles Davis's Kind of Blue as a good starting point. A Love Supreme by John Coltrane is another classic. Also, check out Nefertiti by Miles Davis, We Get Requests by Oscar Peterson, and if you're looking for something more "out," I would suggest Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch or The Shape of Jazz to Come by Ornette Coleman.

There's too may to mention and I don't know if your willing to go buy an album just on a suggestion from people you don't know, and don't know you. Therefore, try a radio station.
WKCR(.org/89.9fm) is a great station out of Columbia University, NY. They play all types of good jazz.
PS-If you are willing to take a suggestion on an album to buy, Here's some that are good to start with.
John Ellis-Roots, Leaves, and Branches.
Roland Kirk-The Inflated Tear.
Wayne Shorter-Juju.
Thelonous Monk-Monk's Dream.
Joe Henderson-Mode For Joe.
Hope this helps.
