The older conservative movement, also known as fiscal conservatives, believed in a small federal government with minimal federal regulation.

The neo-conservative movement seeks to take advantage of their majority at the federal level to advance the rest of their platform/agenda on a national scale. To that end, the abandoned the small federal government plank and went for a strong federal government. They also abandoned much of the fiscal aspect of the movements original platform, resulting in massive deficit spending and a dramatic increase in the national debt.

Other than that, they tend to have similar goals for the rest of their social agenda.

A neo-conservative can not truly exist. The term was created by the Liberals because they wanted to make the Conservatives look like Nazi Germany and Hitler. Rhetoric and slander to the max.
Nazi's follow more of the socialist/communist line. They would more line up with what Russia was with the exception of the dictatorship that Hitler had.

A Conservative is one that believes that most people can and should be self dependent. They want to teach people how to be self dependent and get them off of their addiction of government support. (They can never grow and make it while living off of the Govt. Democrat Secret of Power)

Traditional conservatives wish to maintain the status quo. Everybody who is down, should stay down, and everyone who's on top, should continue exploiting the rest.

Neocons are hellbent on generating world conflict through a misguided belief that the US is a lone superpower and can extend itself militarily. They have no concept of the risks, nor do they realize that the rewards they think they see are just a mirage.

Both are wrong, but neocons are more so.

Neo cons were thought of liberals at one time( I think). They are hard set against dictators of any kind. Plan old conservatives may not be as obsessed about dictators around the world.

Neo Conservative is a term used by liberals to describe conservatives. I have never heard of another conservative or republican use the term to describe themselves.

Traditionally conservatives favor a non-interventionist foreign policy. Neo-conservatives obviously favor an interventionist foreign policy.

Honestly, I am a conservative, and I have no idea. I guess if you are against certain things, some folks feel they have to get ugly.
