Not all whites are offended when they see a black and white couple and it isn't just whites. Many blacks tend to get offended. The reason many people, black and white get upset when they see black and white couples is as follows:
Many people are just plain racist
Some people see it as:Why did you abandon us for that girl or that guy.
Some people can't get used to it.
These are some of the reasons why many persons ablack and white get offended when they see black adn white couples.

Not all of us are offended.. I'm about as white as they come (night owl from the rainy N.W.) And I've got absolutely no problem with it. It may be that those who do are either racial bigots or suspect the couple are together merely because of "fashion" rather than love. By fashion I mean the theory that it's "cool" to date a black guy/girl and that blacks go for "white chicks". It's all stereotype, but sometimes maybe it's true. I dunno. I do know that regardless of race, I envy any couple that's found love and happiness. God knows it's rare enough.

Anyone who says that interracial couples do not carry a stigma with them is either a fool or a known liar. I don't know that such couples are comitting an offense, I would not say so, but anyone -both blacks and whites- will take particular notice of an interracial couple in public. That said, if they love one another, this need not stop a black from being with a white, or vice-versa. It will be a cross for them to bear, though. It's naive to think otherwise. Such is our society.

Surprise,surprise,...
I'm sure a great many are. Absolutely.
Probably about as many as there would be black people offended.
No color, race or nationality has an exclusive on racism, it's a commonly shared prejudice..
Here's a thought for you. Who and where did it begin and by whom and why and,..
who and how did you become aware of it. It's not a class taught in school, or there's not a show, like Sesame Street that teaches our children how to hate.
So, where than. Think about that. If your real honest about it, It might surprise you where you learn it.
Don't know if I helped but I answered as truthfully as I could.

I dont think offended would be the word, but there is a lot of hate and racisim in this world.I am married to a man of a different race and it was hard on my family, but they have no choice but to except it and respect him because this is my choice and i knew with this choice would come alot of ignorant remarks and whispers and i cant change the world so ill go on with my happy little life

Why would white people be any more offended than black people?

Of course some are - you probably seen their posts all over these boards.
I'm not. I've been in mixed relationships. I've seen some of the looks and heard ALL of the comments. But frankly, it was not as bad as I would have guessed.
Here is another way to think about the same question. How would you feel if your son or daughter dated someone you consider a minority?

Not me!! My husband's white cousin just had a baby with a black man 3 weeks ago. Other family members have problems with it...but oh well. I so if they treat each other right, what's the problem.

Only if they're all over each other in public. Of course, any couple like that might offend me.
