Yes it does. However may I recommend if you are with cable you should try and see if they offer their own box. I have charter and I have the Motorola Moxi box. It does just fine for me. Best part about renting a box, if ANYTHING ever goes wrong with it. You just call charter and they have to give you a new one. I mean as long as you didn't decide to take a sledge hammer to it lol. TiVo works with both cable and DirecTV, though most cable providers and DirecTV offer their own branded version of the TiVo boxes to subscribers. The original, stand-alone TiVo units that you buy at Best Buy or Circuit City will work with both, though - as well as over-the-air antenna signals, too, if you have an antenna.
