optics, astronomy, chemistry, algebra, physics (al-haytham and others), the made trade between asia and europe possible, human rights reached new unprecedented levels following Islam.

nations were created newly to fractionalize (divide and conquer) the arab empire and it continues to function to weaken it. but I wouldn't start counting accomplishments from the beginning of the western modern golden age (colonial age-when nations were formed), obviouslly built on the back of imperialism of the third world.

ah f-k it your mind is mind up, stay in the dark.

Are you kidding? Without the arab countries, all of the knowledge of the ancient world would've been lost, as the Christians destroyed all of it that they could find in the West.

The East, especially the arab east, kept technology, industry, and equitable treatment of people alive during the entire Dark Ages. Math, science, art and literature progressed.

Now the middle east keeps the world going by pumping out their oil. If it were my oil, I'd keep it underground until I built my own industrial base. I wouldn't waste it on the West. But that's Western-style thinking.

Observational astronomy flourished in the Iranian world and other parts of the Islamic realm.

The Persian astronomer al-Farghani of the late 9th century wrote extensively on the motion of celestial bodies. His work was translated into Latin in the 12th century.

In the late 10th century, a huge observatory was built near Tehran, Persia (now Iran), by the Persian astronomer al-Khujandi, who observed a series of meridian transits of the Sun, which allowed him to calculate the obliquity of the ecliptic.

Also in Persia, Omar Khayyám performed a reformation of the calendar that was more accurate than the Julian and came close to the Gregorian.

yes of course!!! if the Saudis alone pull their business out of the US the economy would crumble. plus don't forget where the gas in your car comes from and how much you'll be paying for it if those Muslim nations were to cut off all oil supply.
royal family and the US? there are a LOT of Saudis that contribute to the US economy!!
prince Waleed Bin Talal donated 10 million dollars to the Bronx zoo a few years back and he was also the one who saved Donald Trump from going bankruptcy!!!
they are big share holders in the biggest american corporations.
there's a huge business relationship between the US and the Muslim Nations especially the Gulf countries!

there's also the egyptian chemist Ahmed H. Zewail !!

winner of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on femtochemistry.

zewail's key work has been as the pioneer of femtochemistry—i.e. the study of chemical reactions across femtoseconds. Using a rapid ultrafast laser technique (consisting of ultrashort laser flashes), the technique allows the description of reactions at the atomic level.

Sadly, no.

Not a single country dominated by any religious group can be said to be positively contributing to the modern world.

Muslims are a very proud people, and I think that they hate the west for making them feel inferior.

Unfortunately, until they accept capitalism and tolerance they will never find a productive and respectable place in history, much less the modern world.

All their best people move to the west and do their producing here.

They gave us a few things 1200 years ago: math and some medical technology. The only thing they have that keeps their greedy asses in 400 foot yachts is the oil under their feet.

Muslim countries contributed to the economy by hoarding their oil in order that they could get the high prices.

Well, my answer is oil. As the enviro nuts made it so US can't drill our own oil.
But, the math stuff is also true.
I know that the Egyptians don't really group themselves with the Arabs. But, to me they live close enough for my add in. Pyramids. We can't even figure out how they were built.
