wow, an intelligent question from someone older than the age of 15....lol.
I am 39, have 2 daughters... 5 & 8. it's a really interesting dynamic at this point in life.
I love my kids more than anything....anything. But, I still need the "Me" time. So, it's give and take. I don't golf on weekends... that is time for me and the girls. I can golf when I retire.
As for the cool factor... I have always been and always will be a huge fan of music. I go to at least a dozen concerts per year, including some at the clubs. I can't give that part up...
But, no more booze binges till 5am... lol... no. I do play poker one night a week... still go to Marlins & Heat games... but now I take the girls to all the games, and they love it.
So, to me, my cool factor is being a good dad...( While still going to see pearl jam & the family values tour ) May be not as exciting as doing X at a hip hop club... but it works for me.

I have teenagers and young adults hanging around the house all the time because I'm the "cool mom", which is fine by me. They know the rules and regs and stick by them when they are here. I still go out about once every six months and pull a good tequilla drunk, lol. My hubby goes with me so he can dance with me and then make sure I get to the car when I get wasted so I don't fall on my face, lol. I have a Caddy, but don't drive much. I just ride around with my hubby in his big 4 door, diesel, 4 wheel drive, F250 most of the time. People actually let us go first at the stop sign even if they should because the truck is so big. I think it's totally hilarious.

From my 22 yr old daughter's perspective, I'm probably on the low end of the scale. From my perspective however, I feel like I break the needle the other way! LOL. I am 41 yrs old, love fast cars and cool beat music, but don't do the club scene. I don't feel like I need to be inebriated to be cool. I drive an economy car for fuel mileage and expense, but if I got rich tomorrow, I would drive to the nearest big city,(which is Jacksonville, FL) and buy a 2007 Jaguar XKR, pearl white. How is that for cool? Thank you for the fun question. :)

I'm in my early twenties, and it's more stress than it is cool...
The drinking 'til I puke days are over, as is club hopping...Picking guys up, that was over years ago, as I am in a serious long term relationship...oh and starting my Masters as well as working in the hospital...
My "cool" factor has to do with being a kid at heart...watching comedies with my boyfriend and staying up all night enjoying his company...Going to restaurants in the middle of the night with friends, and just hanging out laughing our heads off...So there's still lots of cool...And I still listen to my metal music and go to concerts like that...
I'm not a typical 20-something....but that's what makes me cool :)

Guess I'm not very cool anymore... Kinda had to grow up and take on responsibility when my kids were born - too many bills to pay - too much stuff to worry about - once you get married and become a parent, your whole concept of 'cool' changes. For instance, I think it's really cool when the kids clean up their room and get a good grade on their spelling test... I guess it's more about them than me now.

I so don't care to hang out in bars. In fact, there is nothing more pitiful than a bunch of old guys trying to hook up with young girls at a club. I'll go with friends for a night out or whatever, but it's not my idea of a really great Saturday night anymore.

If being cool is laughing and having fun. Then yes, I'm cool. But to me cool is just a word. You don't have to have the latest things to be cool. Just be yourself and be able to laugh, and don't take things too seriously!

Bars and binge drinking are not our thing. "Cool factor" is just being ourselves with people we care about. Not trying to impress anyone or carry on in a phony way.

I have always been and probably always will be marginally cool. It is simply that I'm interested in stuff, but not so interested as to be all out.
For instance: I have a minivan, not a SUV. But it is a Honda. Marginally cool.

I used to think I had it. But now I have three teenage children and I'm afraid to say, the "cool" factor is gone.
