A-Rod will have about 30 errors by season end at the pace he is going. Maybe more. Unless he breaks out offensively with timely hitting, some consistent power and RBI's over the course of the next 1/3 of the season, he's too much of a liability at 3rd base defensively. He truly has the yips just like Knobloch, who never recovered. What kills me is the guy displays no signs of disgust with his own play. Maybe because he's drank too much of his own koolaid and is too much of a prima-donna.

And then where do you play the highest-paid player on your team? As a DH? Because then you have to play Jason Giambi, your second-highest player, at first base where he's a defensive liability as well. And that also means you can't have Bernie Williams in the lineup and, assuming Sheffield and Matsui return from injuries, somebody's going to be the odd man out. A-Rod has made some silly errors this year, partly because he's never felt comfortable at third base and partly, I think, because the pressure of playing in New York is getting to him a little, but he's far from what I would call a defensive liability. Now, if at some point Torre decides to lift him in the ninth for defensive purposes, that's a little different, especially since we all know he won't be hitting in the clutch anytime soon.

large question. CC Sabathia and Andy Pettitte will be tremendous yet who's after that? i could believe Javier Vasquez more effective so than A.J. Burnett--if the Yankees made the international sequence-- because very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days Vasquez ruled the NL. i imagine it may postpone to get the Yankees to the international sequence because there is really no different crew contained in the AL with a more effective pitching artwork force to the Yankees(except the Rays). all and distinctive seems likewise prevalent with the Yankees offense is better and may carry a tumbler at the same time as he don't have his stuff, so like I stated i'd not problem about it. the in straightforward words ingredient i could problem about is that if the Yankees make the international sequence they are going to be dealing with large pitching all round(San Diego, Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Francisco, etc.). all of them have a lot more effective acceptable pitching than the Yankees, and robust pitching continuously negates reliable hitting. Yankees have adventure on their area at the same time as it contains a large type of the different communities contained in the AL, so that they are nonetheless my wager to get to the international sequence.

You ARE Nick Green, right? Or maybe his Dad? I just adored Knoblauch, but A-Rods slump is in no way comparable to Knoblauchs disintegration. This man is one of the all time greats, he's just having a bad patch. He was the AL Player of the Month in May, and actually, he has been inching back. And he obviously was upset about his bad July, he was getting more tense every time he made an error or struck out.

Cut the man some slack, and hope you get traded to a team where you can be an everyday player.

No, that would just be dumb. How many runs have resulted from A-Rod's errors vs. how many runs he produces?

The problem with A-Rod right now is all in his mind. I mean, he was never my fave player but to say he is no good after a bad month or so is just dumb. We are talking about the 2005 AL MVP!

Hey, Yogi Berra went through about eight World Series before he actually hit well in one.

I think everybody needs to lay of A-Rod. I think he is a hell of a ballplayer, and it probably makes it hard to come out of a slump when your own fans boo you more than the other teams fans do. I think everyone just needs to settle down and let him play ball. Plus, he is still hitting .285 with 23 home runs and 81 RBIs. Those are still good numbers to have, and he is doing bad right now. When he comes out of his slump he will do even better!

You'd have to start A-Rod. They have too many good bats at DH and as much as Yankee fans and others rag on A-Rod he's still a damn good player.
