I recently heard on a radio show that the light from some super nova was supposed to become visible to the un-aided eye some time this year. Radio astronomers know of the supernova from some x-ray or other signals, but the light will only just be reaching us.

At first I thought you had mis-heard the radio report, but after about an hour of digging through the internet I found that you are absolutely right!

This website has the whole story about a possible supernova that may occur soon ==>

The big brain above had it right. X-Rays and Light travel the same speed as the laws of physics prevent any known particle or wave traveling at speeds greater than light. Thus, we won't know if we get to see a supernova until it brightens the sky one night, which could happen any day now. Supernovas occur about twice a century in our galaxy and they can be very bright. Some can outshine the very galaxy that they are located in. I really hope I get to see one in my lifetime.

See my source for more info on Supernovas.

There were a few mentions of "if" a certain double star system explodes via supernova we might be able to see it..IF and when it happens. Right now the answer is no, in fact no really easily visible comets or much else, although is is nearing peak time for PERSEIDS meteor shower, although this year will be rather unspectacular. I did provided links for you.

LOL. Someone is messing with you. Super novas cannot be predicted. And light and radio waves travel at the same speed. X-rays can't race ahead, either!

Our image voltaic gadget replaced into probable created out of many, many small debris that have been thrown into area with the aid of a lot of super-novas, not in basic terms one. each and every time there a celebrity throws off gas, area is suffering from the makings of latest stars and planets.
