I absolutely hate letting people down after I made a commitment, but if I am really busy and just can't do it I let them know and try to compromise.

Depends on how important they are to me and how great there need is. If my love is great for that person and there love is great then that becomes my priority. If they aren't important or I don't think the task is important, I tell them straight out...no.

I tell them the truth, if I really can't do it, unless it's something really important to them or really serious then I make the time to help out.

With tact and politeness explain to this individual that you appreciate that he asked your help, but that your plate is full and you can not do it. People appreciate truth and honesty. He will understand.

Depends what it is - who it is - what else I have to do. There is a saying, "If you want something done, ask somebody who is busy."

Try your best to fit them in, if they are family they should come first. Next you have to fit them in,if they do a lot for you, it should be a priority.

I say yes mostly because they would not ask if they did not need, however if I am otherwise obligated and cannot help, I say so.
