It's not o.k. to make money from other peoples misery, but after all this is Amerika where nothing is sacred, especially the dead. Now if George Bush had been in tower 1 or 2 I would be first in line to see the movie.

Why would you say that? If there wasn't a movie about the World Trade Center, that would be taking away an epic event that shaped American History. We are the generation that felt the affect from the attack, The attack is all over the news, and will be put down as a historical event in the history of the world. This film was meant to be made just like Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump or even Passion of the Christ. Plus documentaries of it are already made on it.

Well it would be done sooner or later. Almost all big events are turned into movies, there was even a movie done about a serial murderer/rapist in Canada, against the wishes of the victims families. Things happen. Hollywood needs to profit off of others pain. I also think its not a bad thing for others to see how it really happened, and to feel and go through what the people may have on that day. It is also an historic event now and should never be forgotten.

We live in a moral relativistic society. Who's to say what is okay and what isn't?

If it was made to ONLY line the pockets of the Hollywood people that worked on it, then NO, it would not be okay.

BUT, from what I have heard, there will be a certain percentage of the profits donated to the 9/11 Fund that supports families that lost loved ones.

AND, from everything else that I have heard, it is all true. Everything in the movie is the way it happened 5 years ago. Personally, I think people should be educated more about the extent to what actually happened, so that it can open their eyes more to the impact that terrorism REALLY has on innocent people.

I certainly think its ok about the movie made of the attack on the world trade centre.First its shows the triumph of man kind over terrorism. That the spirit of people prevails over terrorism. Its the least you can do to the martyrs who lost their lives in the worst attack against man kind and the movie is an tribute paid to the lost souls. The film is a dedication to innocent victims whose proceeds goes for a noble cause.Martyrs should not be forgotten at any point of time and the movie in a way helps us to remember them. The movie also shows of many unsung heroes who rose to the occassion to fight against the unseen enemy and its in a way of honouring them.

Anyone can make any movie about anything they want as long as they get money to finance it and actors to act in it. There have always been controversial films about actual events: the movie about President Kennedy is one example and, of course, Mel Gibson's Passion movie of a couple years ago. If you don't think it's okay and would be upset watching it then don't go. Free choice.

I think it shows how much people suffered to try and keep them safe. Others can imagine to put themselves in that situation and see what it would feel like. I mean, it's not NOT ok to show a true story of determination and courage.
And it isn't wrong to make other people cry in movies. Laugh or cry, its okay. I watched Click recently and I cried cuz I thought he really died (but he was alive so phew) in the movie. It's something that was so severe that in the future we may never forget it. So.. yeah..... eheheh

You're not offering a reason for your opinion. I haven't seen it yet, but from what I'm hearing and from the media coverage, it looks like it was tastefully done. The big plus is that 10% of the profits go to NY charities honoring the victims and their families. And if you don't think 10% is much, you don't know much about points in the industry.

I think it is good. Granted that some people do not want this movie to come out because they do not feel as though it is time. For some people though, it will never be time. Everytime they see it it fills them with anguish and resent about the ones they lost, but people need to know what happened and a movie is the closest thing we have to depict how horrible the event was.
