(DISCLAIMER: I am not making this answer up. It really happened.)
I have seen both done simultaneously, by a large male macaque monkey which I tamed over the course of about a year.
In the evening, he would sit behind me on the back of my garden bench, and with a look of hilariously intense concentration, search my hair for edible organisms.
What would freak me out the most was that every 10 mins or so, he would apparently find something to his liking and move it into his mouth.
Either he had a twisted sense of humour or my shampoo wasn't working.
