Yes, you can tell if a guy is gay. All you have to do is ask him. If he says yes, then he is gay.

If he says no, then that means he is either not gay or he is in the closet. (Some closeted gays will not say they are gay because some people discriminate against gay people).

You cannot tell if a guy is gay by asking his friends or family or co-workers because lots of people make assumptions about guys being gay and their assumptions are not always correct.

Take him to an after-hours club celebrating gay-pride that night. See if he sits in the back looking like he's about to cry because all the women are lesbian, or if he heads up front with all the other greased up guys

There is no way of knowing because some guys are closeted due to hate crimes especially if they are prominent. Some guys are goys meaning they prefer a mans presence and really close bondships but I don't see a difference.
