I live down the road from Disney World and I worked there years ago. Yes, February is a good time to visit because its not so hot or crowded. Some days are freezing for Floridians but you will see Canadians on the beaches. Sometimes an attraction will be closed for maintenance - enjoy the ones that are open. Room rates are usually lower. The slowest tourism months in Florida are May and September. Weather is nice in both months but September is the month of highest hurricane activity. I hope that helps.

February is a nice time to visit, it may be a little cooler, but that's usually fine by me. Sweater weather during the evening, but days are usually pleasant and mild. The crowds will be light, with the exception of Presidents Day weekend, which will be more crowded. I've not stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge, but have heard it's wonderful, like all the rest of the Disney Properties, and there are sections of the park that you can see from the Lodge that you can't see from the Savannah tour.
As far as attractions that will be closed during the time of your visit, you'll have to visit the Disney World website www.disneyworld.com, and check each park. Wait until about a month before you go, otherwise it won't be very current. Plan on some of the major attractions being closed for renovations, because that's the time of year Disney does it.

February is the BEST time to go to Animal Kingdom!!! The animals are usually out, it is much cooler, and the crowds aren't bad!!
My birthday is in Feb (my Fiances too) and we went to Animal Kingdom and had a blast. The weather was fantastic.
I have heard the Savannah views are a must if you are staying at the Animal Kingdom lodge!! The restaurants are great there too! We ate at Jiko... sooo gooood!
None of the attractions should be closed. They are actually putting in a new 'Finding Nemo' attraction that I hear is going to be really neat when it finally opens. You'll have a better chance of seeing the animals on the safari ride too!! There also should be shorter lines, so you have to ride Expedition Everest!!! (Ride more than once!)
We go all the time, we have annual passes and live in Orlando. I would definitely go in Feb and stay at the Animal Kingdom lodge if that was what you were planning!

I was there in February and stayed in the animal kingdom lodge with the Savannah view....was actually interviewing with Disney and they put me up there. The room was really great and I could see zebra, giraffe, birds, and wildebeest from my balcony. They have an outdoor firepit with rocking chairs surrounding it which was really nice to go sit around at night, right near where the animals are. The lobby is really neat too, and have some comfy chairs to sit and relax and perhaps read the morning paper or a book. There are a few restaurants in the hotel. I ate at one that was buffet style only and while the food was good...it was a little pricey...$25.00 for one person. I know I did not eat $25 worth of food. The weather wasn't too hot...but still very humid! The park (animal kingdom) was not very crowded when I went which was really nice. Did not have to wait long to get on any of the attractions.

February should be a wonderful time to go. Weather will be nice, crowds not too bad.
Check the Disney website. You can go to an area about each park to see what is scheduled for refurbishment. Usually, it is only one or two things per park at a time, so there is still PLENTY to do.
I have not stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I hear that the Savannah view is the best. (I am a bit envious of you)
Enjoy your trip!

I went the very end of March and the daytime temperature was reaching the 80's, but it still seemed too chilly for the water parks. We wore shorts and short sleeves in the day, long pants in the evening.
Since it was our first time at Disney and weren't sure if we'd able to go back, we decided to splurge, do it right and stay in the Savannah view room. If we could pick up the hotel and take it wherever we travel, we would. The view is completely worth it; there are animals out at all times of day. Make sure you schedule time to just sit on the balcony. There were several giraffe, zebra, birds, but not always at the same time. I have a feeling the animals get paid to do "shifts". It's just great to see them so close. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated. The outdoor pool is the biggest in the Disney resort family. One of the restaurants serves an interesting African-inspired buffet, even if some dishes seem under-spiced.
Check the Disneyworld website for closed atttractions.

I live in Orlando, and it's so much more relaxing to go to the parks around wintertime. First, less heat to wear you out, and Second, less people around to stress you out. :) By February, it isn't really cold, high of about 60 - 70, low 30 - 40. Gotta love Florida winters, they don't stay as long as I'd like. Attractions nomally close due to refurbishing, not usually seasonal. I've never been to the Animal Kingdom Lounge, but Animal Kingdom has got to be my favorite of the parks. Don't forget the Everest Ride! Hope you have a good time when you visit!

The weather is usually about 50-60 in Febuary. The animals at Animal kingdom are more active at that time of year, they love the cooler weather. Daughter works at Walt Disney World, and thinks that is the best time of the year to visit.

February is a good time of year. Not to hot. But just keep in mind it is the month of the Daytona 500. So a lot of people come down for Speed Weeks. Prices go up around that time.

We go their every year around the second week of Feb. and it is wonderful. You hardly have any waits on the rides and the weather is usually pretty nice. I would bring a sweatshirt just in case though because the nights can be a little chilly.
