I broke my arm skating when I was 8 yo. Was it dumb then? Nope! First of all 40 is not old! Anyone who participates in a sport can break or strain something. Think of all the NBA, NFL and tennis pros with their aches, pains and sprains. Above all, I am sure your dad did not do it on purpose and was probably a great skater back in the day. Give him a break and be glad your dad is not a couch potatoe.

No, it was smart - because now he knows that he doesn't have to help out at home. Dumb that he though he can skate without falling at 40. Even 35 is too old to not get hurt skating,

no because he was doing something that was fun and good for him (exercise) a broken arm can happen to anyone. he didn't do it on purpose. don't be afraid your father will be okay. before you know it the 2 of you will be back skating soon.

40 isn't old, he is not even in the middle of his life yet (thinking maybe he'll live to be100 since he an active person). I am older then your dad and i climb trees, run, go swimming, ride bikes, with my grandson cause I am fit enough to have fun.

my grand-mom was 72 and played dodge- the- ball with the neighborhood kids. she was good too!

Yesterfay I broke my baby finger falling down the stairs.
You are a mean kid to think your father dumb for braking an arm skating.
You need to learn some manners AND how to spell you dummie!
How did that feel?

Why? Because he's a kid at heart and still goes skating? Nothing wrong with that, even if he did hurt himself while doing it. And to answer your question, no it was not a dumb thing to do.

Hey kid .... I'm 45. What's your point? Bet he didn't pick on you when you were in diapers busting you a$$ everytime you tried to stand up!

Thank God your dad has the drive, determination and will to go have fun. Some dads are stagnent. (He's probably picking up on your chicks and you're copping a tude.) Get over it and go have some fun with him!

I don't understand, why would that be dumb? I understand that skating is not really that dangerous but many people slip in the tub and brake things - and even die! so, no, it's not dumb!

Why do you ask if its dumb? Accidents will happen, regardless of age and if your dad skates, it means he's active and you should be proud of him.
