Actually guppies cannot live in an aquarium with an Oscar because the Oscar gets guppies for food.

Yes.
Guppies can live in an aquarium with an Oscar. But they won't live too long. My guess is that they will live maybe until Oscar's lunch time or dinner time, depending on the Ostranautis Oscellatus (spelling?)
Here are ways to let your guppies live longer:
If you need to keep them in the same tank.
1. Pray
2. Provide lots of nooks and crannies (little tunnels and little shells etc..that the little guppies can swim into and the Oscar cannot fit inside of. So if the oscar chases the guppies, he will just terrorize them but not be able to kill them or eat them . (though some might still die of fright).
3. Buy a plastic divider that people use to keep siamese fighting fish apart. So in one ten gallon tank you have a divider that makes the tank into TWO tanks. This way the guppies are safe, though probably still terrorized, and the oscar will drive himself nuts trying to eat the guppies through the plastic wall.
4. BEST SOLUTION: Decide whether you really want guppies OR an Oscar . Buy a separate tank for the guppies.
Or feed the guppies to the oscar and then , no problem, although that's cruel to the guppies, it does solve your dilemna.
MY SUGGESTION:
CHOOSE first., before you purchase any fish, what kinds of fish you want and buy a fish that is not a predator. That's the most humane solution .
Oscar will still be raised eating earthworms and meal worms and perhaps goldfish (feeding fish) but your guppies will no longer be terrorized in their own home.
So there you go that's the answer..
Oh, and one other thing. oscars arent' great with parties..So be sure his tank is COVERED..if you have a party.
We had oscar (an inch long) and grew him to over about a foot or two long, big fish. But on New Years' eve, he apparently couldn't deal with the party and he jumped out of his home and died.
So, parties and oscars do not mix unless the tank is covered.
I guess that's best with all fish, since some a re known to be jumpers normally even without parties.
Hope that has helped, even if your question was a joke question (lol that you wrote) ., I'm sure there are lots of people raising oscars and guppies who might find this info helpful.

Only if the oscar is small. As he grows he will eat any and everything that is small enough to get into his mouth.
