I can't remember for sure, but I read something about the speed of the male vs. female sperm. I think the female producing ones are stronger, but slower, while the male ones are weaker, but faster. So if you have intercourse a day (or maybe even 2 days), before your ovulation, vs. on that day (or the day after), you'd be more likely to conceive a girl.
