I have heard this but honestly never tried it...they say the first step to remembernig your dreams better and having more control over them is: before you go to sleep, tell yourself "i will remember my dream"/make an effort to think about your subconscious. the more important step is to keep a dream journal by your bed and write your dreams in it as they occur. You don't have to worry so much about interpreting them just yet, but get them recorded. By increasing conscious awareness of subconscious activity, you are more apt to "control" it.

If you are referring to a goal then write it on your screen saver or on a poster and keep it in sight. Or write it on a piece of paper and read it at least 3 times a day.

visualize it, very carefully, with plenty of details.
work on your picture, adding little specifications, precise, tune de image.
if your are a visual person, the focus on the visual aspects of your image.
if you're auditive person, focus on sounds, on all the surrounding "clima" of it, on the emotional tone of the picture.
just retent your image, concretizing de aspects as hard as you can, don't be afraid of doing it.
when i say "hard" i mean, with determination, without fear, without prohibitions, be creative. i don't mean "effort".
enjoy your image, play with it.
touch it, as it was said here, "control" it, in the sense that you must feel that you can have it, it belongs to you, because just you have created it. it depends on you.

Write down your dream on a piece of paper. now stick this paper on your mirror. read it whenever u see in the mirror. this really helps
