Try to place the baby next to you while your pumping. You may need to relax a little and stop trying to rush it. Expressing milk is stressful and unnateral for the body so you have to give it time.
If need be try formula for your outings. I breastfeed and can't pump...and when I actually do she won't drink the expressed milk.
Good luck

Try pumping EARLY in the morning. Look at a picture of your child to help with the let-down. If you still can't get much from pumping, it is okay to use formula for while you are gone. I breastfed for 10 months. My daughter wouldn't take a bottle at all, so pumping wasn't really an issue. I just did it to keep my milk supply up. When I did pump, I got about 4 oz. total from 15 minutes of pumping. I had a dual electric pump, and it was a cheap one from wal-mart. Good luck, and don't give up on breastfeeding!

I had the same problem, i honestly don't think it has anything to do with the pump. I tried a manual/massaging pump, a single electric, a double electric, and a medela "in style" (seriously expensive!). None of them worked any better than the other! I think that our breasts become used to being stimulated by the baby, and only that baby can get the milk out. The only thing that actually worked was to manually express it (use your fingers massaging downward )use a funnel type catcher to get it all. It sucks, and it takes awhile untill you get the hang of it, but once you do, boy it just squirts right out! lol try it

Is this the same pump you were using before? Some times when i would have trouble pumping i would take a quick hot shower first to help the milk drop. Also one way that ALWAYS worked for me when i was having trouble was to let the baby nurse for a few minutes to get the milk flowing and then pump the rest and store it. Feed the baby and then about 30 minutes to an hour later let the baby latch on for about 3 or 4 minutes and then take him/her off the breast and pump that breast. hope that helps. It always worked for me when i was having trouble.

if your nipples are hitting the proper of the guard you likely do favor the subsequent length up. that is ought to or received't help. some human beings have hardship pumping more effective than some oz..at a sitting, i comprehend I did. in case you may, try pumping one side at the same time as infant nurses on there different. this may help with enable down. you may change aspects at the same time as infant is waiting and pump the different. Your infant will nevertheless get milk out of the side you already pumped. children are extra effective than pumps at extracting milk. you may convey jointly milk too. in case you in hardship-free words get a small volume at each and every consultation relax and upload to the previous consultation till you've the quantity you want for an total bottle. I used to shop milk in 2oz programs so as that if i wanted a lot less or more effective than 4oz i'd not waste milk.

I had the same problem when my baby was 1.5 months (now she is 4 months). A few things I have done to improve the situation and it worked for me:
1. Drink 2-3 cups of milk every day
2. Drink 1 cup of warm water right before every pumping
3. Eat more on my diet
4. Pump more frequently
I hope that would help!

i had the same problem i could use a manual pump but my pricey electric pump had like no suction and didn't work... i guess you could just clean up the electric pump and give it away or sell it or something and buy a hand pump and use that. or supplement with formula. my baby ate so much and i couldn't keep up with production so by the end of the day if i didn't give him a bottle during the day i would be dried up. and he wouldnt get his end of the day breastfeeding. so he wouldn't sleep. lol. what you could try and i know this sounds perverted but you could rub your nipples until you let down and then try pumping. the idea about having your baby nurse until you let down and then taking it off is good, but you may end up with a very angry baby. just relax and let it flow no pun intended. good luck!

I think it's probably just not a very good pump. If your baby's still getting plenty, then it's not a problem with your milk or breast.
Contact the manufacturer of this very expensive pump and let them know your problem. They may have advice, or may offer you a refund. Try a smaller hand pump instead.

Drink plenty of liquids for starters. Also try to relax. Being stressed about it will only make it harder. Also expensive doesn't make it the best. I used a Avent manual pump that worked just fine. It have been several years ago but I am pretty sure it was less than $50.

If you know for sure that the pump is working properly, call a lactation consultant. They should have one in the hospital where you delivered your baby. They may want to see you and bring your pump. There is usually a small fee for such a visit, but you get professional help.
