Okay, this is very strange. The other evening around 6pm my husband woke up from his nap.I was sitting at the computer. He looked right at me & said "Mama". I said "What?" Then he said "Where's my wife?" & went upstairs while unsnapping his pants to use the bathroom. When he came back down I said what's wrong with you; are you sleep walking? He said no he was wide awake & he really thought I was his mother. I look nothing like her! She weighs twice what I do. What is wrong with my husband? Is he just psycho or is there some disease that starts like this? He does not drink or do drugs.

He's only 26. Can young people get some type of dementia?

Just because you asked him if he was walking in his sleep and he told you no..........he was probably in the state of half asleep and half awake.
His mind was playing tricks on him during this point and maybe he had just been dreaming of his mother or something in his childhood.

I would not worry about it at this point.
Now if he starts making a habit of it when he is not sleeping or just waking up....then start worrying.

He probably really was half asleep and some dream overlapped reality. I wouldn't worry about it if he's only 26. If it keeps happening then take him for cognitive testing. There is a genetic type of Early-Onset Alzheimer's but I think 26 is young even for that.

He was probably just 1/2 asleep--we've all had strange things happen in that stage--I know I have. Otherwise, you 2 should talk about this just to maybe have a professional check it out--just to rule out alzheimers--but if this is the only thing that has happened, i wouldn't worry too much.

Dementia I think not. Most likely a person not awake yet is still funtioning on the sub.conscious mind. If he kisses you and say Tamara lets do it like we did last week at the fair......Houston we have a problem.

maybe he was dreaming about his mother or something and since ur the woman in his life rite now and she was the important one back than something in his brain sorta fused them together and

..

maybe he woke up for a few secs, saw a woman at the computer, went to sleep, dreamt about his MOTHER onthe computer, and then woke up, saw a woman on the computer, and thought for a second it was his mom...

dreams do that, no need to be worried!!!

Oh, it is normal. Sometimes after I travel a lot, I do not realize where I am after I get up. Maybe he had a dream about his mother, big deal!
